We are an independent private practice, established in Gympie in 2006, now based in Brooloo, Queensland.
Kev Irle is a qualified and experienced psychologist who provides a respectful and confidential psychological counselling service, to assist men and women who are experiencing difficulties such as depression and anxiety, grief and loss.
About us
Kev Irle, Psychologist
Kev holds a BSocSc (Counselling) degree from the University of the Sunshine Coast and has a Post Graduate Certificate in Psychology from Edith Cowan University.
Kev has an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of the Sunshine Coast, and a diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy.
Kev is also a member of EMDRAA.
Kev is a registered general psychologist with AHPRA
Kev is a provider of services under Better Access to Mental Health Care, through which Medicare offers a rebate to assist people to access psychological services.
Your GP can refer you for counselling after writing a Mental Health Care Plan - the full fee is payable at time of appointment, but we can process the Medicare rebate which will be paid directly into your bank account.
Please note you will need to see your GP and have a mental heath care plan in place before making an appointment if you wish to claim Medicare rebate.
Please also request a longer appointment with GP to allow time for your Mental Health Care Plan to be written.
Kev also offers sessions through Veterans and Veteran's Families Counselling Service (Open Arms) and Workcover Queensland.

Individual counselling session, 50 minutes duration - $170.00
Payment options: cash or direct deposit welcome (by prior arrangement)
We also offer credit card facilities
Mental Health Care Plan through GP referral: Medicare rebate applies*
*Medicare rebates are processed same day - (as at 1 July 2026 this rebate is $101.50)
Full payment required at time of appointment.

Counselling does not attract GST

Please note that appointments are times set aside expressly for you. Please check your appointment and request a reschedule if you are unable to attend.
Cancellation of an appointment with less than 24 hours notice will require payment in full which must be paid before re-booking an appointment.
Mindfulness Recordings
Mindfulness is a big part of the therapy we offer. On this page you can access recordings of the mindfulness meditations and cognitive exercises you experience within a session.
